Here's a quick Gallery of The State Farm Traffic Divas (no professionals were harmed during this photo shoot)
So, it has been brought to my attention that the Super Bowl is long over and it is time to update this page; well, here I am......updating; hope you're enjoying it so far. I appreciate you taking this journey with me, the sky is the limit with this post; we can talk about traffic, basketball, soccer, the NFL combine......see, the possibilities are endless. We can talk about cooking, exercise, golf, Mariners Spring training......wine, wine tasting, shopping, tolling... hiking? We could talk about politics and religion, but that just leads to angry people and comments, so let's leave those alone. So, here we go, the topic list is plentiful, so let's dive right in-
Traffic- actually looks pretty good today, so I can't complain. There have been added issues on NB 405 north of Totem Lake, I think it has to do with the construction there, so be careful. Good advice, I know. You're welcome.
Basketball- the Huskies have been frustrating to say the least, but if last year was any indication, the only thing that matters is winning the Pac-12 tourney, so they're still in it. The Cougars....well, same issue there. The Kings/Sonics.....where to begin. Every week there's some new semi-news out of Sacramento. It's too much. I have decided to just sit back and wait before I freak out and celebrate or throw a chair through a window. Side note, it might be fun to do both.
Soccer- The US is trying to qualify for the World Cup- that caused some confusion this year, since the qualifier is CONCACAF and that's something the Sounders tend to play for; so to set the record straight, the Sounders will not be playing for the World Cup, although Eddie Johnson & Brad Evans are on the US roster. Hope that clears things up.
NFL combine- I don't watch it. I have heard about it and from what I have heard, I can summarize this year's combine like this- Desmond Trufant ran really fast. Manti Te'o did not. Again, you're welcome.
Cooking- I made a dinner for my husband and sister-in-law dinner on Sunday...they didn't like it.....back to the drawing board.
Excercise- I have failed to go to the gym so far this week....on a positive note, I worked out lots in Palm Springs last week....I hope it carries over.
Golf- I was in Palm Springs with the hubby and friends on a golf trip the boys won playing in the Cascade Cup. It was awesome. I didn't play any golf, but I drove them back and forth from the course, drank by the pool and watched golf on TV. Close enough.
Mariners Spring Training- it's going on now in Peoria.....it was cold there last week. The Mariners are hitting lots of home runs right now....perhaps they will be the offensive juggernaut we all know they can be. No, I am not drunk right now.
Which brings us to our next topic-
Wine- I drink it. Red, white and sprakling; I don't discriminate. I do believe it is a sign of my maturity however, that I no longer drink any wine handed to me. If I don't like it, I don't drink it.....unless I am already drunk.
That's why I like wine tasting-
See how I transitioned there? Wine tasting is one of my favorite past times! The Passport to Woodinville is one of the best events to do this locally.....check it out.
Shopping- I am a woman, I enjoy shopping now and again.....especially if I get to shop with someone else's money....that's super fun. When it's my own money, I walk around with 85 things and slowly talk myself out of all of them. This happened just last week at Ross in La Quinta, but fear not; there was no talking myself out of the wooden Buddha. That things a keeper.
Tolling- the state wants to toll I-90. As a former resident of Mercer Island and someone who occasionally travels across the lake, I think this is an awful idea. I think many people agree with me. That is all.
Hiking- I went hiking when I was 9 and got bit in the back of the leg by a horse fly. Then the paddle boat we put together came apart in the lake while my friend was on it. I will be honest, I am glad it wasn't me in that icy water; hadn't I suffered enough at the hands of the fly with horse teeth? I think we can all agree on that.
Well, that's all for today, can't wait until our next topical rendez-vous.
It’s the Super Bowl….yippee…..yahoo and yeehaw! Yes, my friends, that’s the sound of excitement, for the Super Bowl is upon us. If the sound seems somewhat forced, consider yourselves observant. For some reason I am just not that stoked about the greatest of all sports party days…..perhaps I had too much Fireball during the Seahawks season…..perhaps I am growing up. Whoah, my apologies, I don’t know what just came over me. Too much Fireball? Is that even possible? I am more likely in a Fireball withdrawal, causing my exuberance to be stifled. No fear; I shall overcome.
The 49ers and the Ravens….the Ravens and the 49ers…..Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh…..Harbaugh vs. Harbaugh….oh wait, that doesn’t work….Perhaps my lack of excitement comes from the overwhelming fear that I will have to watch Jim Harbaugh celebrate a Super Bowl victory….sharpie on a string, sweatshirt firmly tucked in place……douche bag look planted on his douche bag face. Ooops, got a little carried away there. What can I say; douche bags bring out the bitter in me.
My only glimmer of hope for enjoying this year’s Super Bowl (besides a fresh gallon of Fireball) is that John Harbaugh and the Ravens come through for me and beat the 49ers 1 million to zero. So, yes, there is a chance I shall enjoy this game after all. Of course, “boring” Joe Flacco is gonna need a lot of protection from the Blind Side….but, there’s a chance. The defense could score too, I mean, if the Ravens are gonna rack up 1 mill, they’re going to have to. You don’t score 1 million points on your own, not last time I checked anyway.
So, hear my plea Ray Rice, run like you have never run before. Listen up Ray Lewis; you want your children Raven, Ray III, Rayshan, Diamond Desiree and Rayshad to be proud, don’t you? Quick question- Diamond Desiree? Did you run out of ways to use Ray? What about Rayla? Raynay? Just spit balling here……Rayshonda? Seems like you kind of mailed it in on that one. Dennis Pitta- be the best tight end you ever could be. Haloti…do what you could never do at
So, as we stand here on the Day before the Day before, I send you all my strength, wisdom (which let’s be honest, you aren’t getting a whole lot there, but it’s the thought that counts) and my positive juju. Use it, run with it and win. Just win. Beat those darn 49ers, and, when you do, I just ask one thing of the TV crews- please pan over to Alex Smith so we can see if he is smiling.
Ok, this might be one of the funniest things I have seen in a while! While I find it funny, I am not condoning it friends; let's get that clear! Ha! It reminded me of the recent discovery by our trusty State Patrol friends; people riding with dummies in their cars to try and sneak through in the HOV lanes. I probably don't have to remind you that's super illegal, right? Well, this guy has a new idea- the invisible driver and he takes his shenanigans to the drive through; the reactions are priceless! PS- kudos to the guy for the hard work that went into this, just to give us a laugh!
