Manraj Hayer scored the lone Everett goal in the contest, giving the ‘Tips a 1-0 lead late in the first period at the time. Six of Everett’s last nine goals have now come on the power-play over the past seven games. Daniel Cotton (9-17-0-2) stopped 24 of 27 shots in net for the Silvertips while taking the loss on his birthday. His counterpart, Brandon Glover (19-24-4-1) made a number of timely saves among the 20 stops made for Seattle.
Everett appeared to start things off after a scoreless first ten minutes when Brayden Low knocked in the rebound of an initial chance by Manraj Hayer, but the goal was waved off on a stoppage for a delayed penalty to Seattle. The Silvertips did take a 1-0 lead later in the period on the powerplay as Dawson Leedahl dropped a pass into the high slot for Manraj Hayer, who rifled a shot to the top corner of the net.
Seattle tied the game on the following shift when Alexander Delnov received a pass from Justin Hickman and one-timed a shot past Daniel Cotton. The Thunderbirds took the lead less than one minute later as Roberts Lipsbergs released a perfect wrist shot that found the top corner with only 14 seconds remaining in the period. Shots favored Seattle 13-10 after 20 minutes of play.
An energetic second period was filled with scoring chances for both teams and an 8-6 shot advantage for Everett, but neither capitalized to leave the score 2-1 heading into the final frame. The ‘Tips managed only three shots in the third period before Hickman’s point shot caromed off the skate of Adam Kambeitz and trickled inside the near post. The goal came just one second after the Silvertips killed off a Seattle powerplay and gave the T-Birds a two-goal lead with six minutes remaining. Everett pulled Cotton to add an extra skater late in the period before Shea Theodore potted an empty net goal in the remaining seconds to complete the 4-1victory for Seattle.
Everett killed off all four Thunderbird powerplays in the contest while scoring once on five opportunities of their own. Seattle outshot Everett 28-21 for the night.
