Playing his 300th WHL game in his hometown of Kelowna, Ryan Harrison also posted an assist on Kohl Bauml’s first-period goal that tied the game at one for Everett.  Unfortunately the ‘Tips failed to light the lamp again, going 0 for 6 on the powerplay as Kelowna pulled away in the last 30 minutes.

Neither team put many shots to the net in the early going, but Kelowna took a 1-0 lead at 7:15 when Myles Bell tucked in a centering feed from Ryan Olsen.  Everett tied things up later in the period with perfect execution during a 3-on-2 rush as Landon Oslanski and Ryan Harrison combined to set up Kohl Bauml’s back-door tap-in to make it 1-1.  The Rockets regained the lead during a 5-on-3 powerplay late in the first however, with Bell wristing home his second of the night at 18:06 to give Kelowna a 2-1 edge.

The Silvertips had four powerplay opportunities in the second period, but were unable to capitalize and also surrendered a shorthanded goal to fall behind by a pair.  Dylen McKinlay jumped on an Everett turnover just inside the Rockets blueline and raced in on a shorthanded breakaway, wiring a perfect shot into the top corner at 9:13 to put the Rockets up 3-1 after 40 minutes.

A comeback never materialized in the third as Kelowna limited Everett to six shots added to the lead with Cole Linaker’s first career goal and another from Colton Sissons to complete the 5-1 final score.  Daniel Cotton (8-9-0-0) stopped 28 shots in a losing cause as the ‘Tips were outshot 33-19 in total.  Jordon Cooke (17-8-1-1) finished with 18 saves in the win for Kelowna.  The Rockets were 1 for 3 on the powerplay.
