Carson Stadnyk and Kohl Bauml both lit the lamp for the Silvertips, who have already equaled last year’s total with eight road wins this season. Lotz (6-12-0-1) did the rest in net, making a number of quality saves to maintain the 1-1 tie until Everett notched the go-ahead goal in the third period. Despite being outshot 39-30 in the contest, Everett has now registered at least 30 shots on goal in six of the last eight games.
Seattle scored the only goal of an evenly-played first period to take a 1-0 lead into the locker room. Connor Honey collected a puck deep in the Everett zone on the play before feeding a pass in front to Alexander Delnov, who backhanded a shot behind Lotz. Everett generated a few good scoring chances while being outshot 14-11 in the first, one of which came late in the period when Brandon Glover made a fantastic pad save on Josh Winquist to preserve Seattle’s lead.
Everett scored about five minutes into the middle frame to tie the game at one as Nick Walters fired a shot from the blue line that was deflected in by Carson Stadnyk for his 7th goal of the season. With Seattle applying pressure during a powerplay later in the period, Lotz made several key saves to keep the game tied – including a diving, left-arm effort to stone Seth Swenson’s bid from the left side of the crease.
Tied at one midway through the third period, the Silvertips went on top to stay when Kohl Bauml and Ryan Harrison created a turnover in the Seattle zone, leading to Harrison’s centering feed that was knocked in by Bauml to give the ‘Tips their first lead of the night at 2-1. Lotz continued to hold the Thunderbirds at bay to finish the game, stopping all 17 Seattle shots he faced in the third.
Brandon Glover (15-14-1-1) stopped 28 of 30 shots in goal for the Thunderbirds. Everett killed off all five Seattle powerplays while being held scoreless three opportunities of their own.
