The dog days of summer continue.
With the offense being effectively shut down for a majority of the summer training camp, more of a focus was placed on deep and intermediate routes today.
QB Brady Quinn completed several passes into tight windows, including a back-shoulder throw to WR Doug Baldwin 20 yards down the sideline, who was being blanketed by CB Antoine Winfield.
CB Walter Thurmond continued what’s been a strong showing in camp with two difficult pass breakups; one down the sideline, and one in the middle of the field. Thurmond is certainly making a case to be considered in the upper parts of the cornerback competition.
Today, C Lemuel Jeanpierre took the snaps at center with Max Unger still sidelined. He didn’t show the same issues that T Michael Person had on Monday.
DE Michael Bennett looked explosive, bursting into the backfield for what would have been a sack of QB Brady Quinn before Quinn dumped the ball off to RB Marshawn Lynch for a screen.
CB Jeremy Lane came unblocked on a corner blitz for a quick sack of QB Tarvaris Jackson.
Six players remain on the PUP and NFI lists for Seattle. WR Percy Harvin (hip), DE Chris Clemons (knee), DT Greg Scruggs (knee), CB Tharold Simon (foot) and TE Zach Miller (foot) remain on the physically unable to perform list. LB Korey Toomer (knee) remains on the non-football injury list.
RB Christine Michael left the field early with an undisclosed injury.
WR Stephen Williams was practicing with a red jersey, still sore from his collision with S Winston Guy on Friday.
