It is quite possibly the deepest position on the Seahawks and consists of more NFL caliber players than the team will likely have room for at the end of training camp.
Behind starters CB Richard Sherman and CB Brandon Browner is a group that has continually made plays throughout camp. With Browner limited Monday, CB Walter Thurmond took the first-team reps on the outside opposite of Sherman and continued to make plays.
CB Jeremy Lane intecepted two passes during Monday's practice. QB Brady Quinn had a miscommunication with a receiver on the second pick and threw the ball directly to Lane for a pick. Head coach Pete Carroll has also spoke about how strong CB Byron Maxwell has looked in training camp so far. Add to that veterans CB Antoine Winfield and CB Will Blackmon and the group is oozing with talent.
Blackmon, a seven-year veteran of the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants, is probably on the outside looking in right now. Every member of the position has made plays throughout camp and it's a battle that should continue throughout the preseason.
With C Max Unger sitting out, T Michael Person actually saw snaps with the first-team offensive line at center. However, it wasn't particularly pretty. Person had at least two snaps to a waiting quarterback in shotgun. C Lemuel Jeanpierre has received nearly all of the of second-team snaps at center throughout camp and is still likely to serve as Unger's backup.
WR Brett Swain seemed to be catching every pass during practice. He was frequently the target of passes with the second- and third-team offenses and made some nice grabs on the day. He did have a drop or two and is still a long-shot to make the roster, but days like Monday seem to help his cause.
WR Phil Bates made a touchdown grab on deep throw from QB Brady Quinn over the outstretched arms of CB Will Blackmon and S DeShawn Shead.
Shead also made a nice play of his own making a jumping swat of a pass away from WR Doug Baldwin on a pass thrown by QB Russell Wilson.
TE Cooper Helfet continues to catch the ball well and made a nice catch-and-run on a pass from Quinn. Helfet ran up the seam and Quinn dropped in a throw over the linebackers as Helfet sprung into the secondary for a big gain.

RB Robert Turbin was activated off the physically unable to perform list after passing a physical on Sunday. However, Turbin still did not practice with the team on Monday.
DE Cliff Avril, CB Ron Parker and TE Darren Fells were sidelined with hamstring strains.
WR Stephen Williams sat out with a sore neck after the collision he had with S Winston Guy during Friday's scrimmage. DE Bruce Irvin sat out for a second day with a groin strain.
WR Bryan Walters, WR Early Doucet, C Max Unger and DE Michael Bennett sat out practice with undisclosed issues. DT Jesse Williams sat out again with a knee injury that has been nagging throughout camp.
TE Michael Palmer (groin) and FB Michael Robinson (ankle) returned to practice Monday, Palmer has missed several days with the groin injury and Robinson sat out on Sunday.
G James Carpenter took part in the early portions of practice before heading into the locker room and not returning to the field.
