The Seattle Seahawks are expected to hire New Orleans Saints assistant Travis Jones as their next defensive line coach.
The move was first reported by Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com.
Jones replaced Todd Wash, who left to take the same position on Gus Bradley's staff in Jacksonville.
Jones coached alongside Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn for two seasons with the Miami Dolphins from 2005-2006. He has been an assistant defensive line coach for the New Orleans Saints since 2008.
Jones was suspended 30 days by the league in 2010 for pleading guilty for his role in a real estate scam.
Seattle also announced that T Breno Giacomini underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow Tuesday morning. Giacomini dealt with the injury the last few games of the season after first appearing on the injury report for the regular season finale against St. Louis.
The procedure was performed by Dr. Edward Khalfayan at Seattle Surgery Center. The recovery time is expected to be 4-6 weeks.
