RENTON - Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch returned to practice on Friday and is expected to play Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
Lynch missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday this week while dealing with a sprained foot. He was limited in practice on Friday but head coach Pete Carroll said he'll be ready to go Sunday.
"He was limited in practice today. He looked fine," Carroll said.
Is there anything that would keep him out of the game?
"Miss the flight? Doesn't show up in Atlanta? He's fine. He'll be all right," Carroll said.
It's not as if Lynch's status was seriously in doubt. Lynch was on the field for the Seahawks last offensive series against the Washington Redskins last week. It's also not unusual for Lynch to miss practices. He was on the injury report for 14 of 16 weeks during the regular season and again last week leading up to the Washington game. He started every game and ran for a career-high 1,590 yards during the regular season.
It was, however, only the second time this year Lynch missed consecutive practices. Lynch also missed the first two practices of the week leading up to the Seahawks' Week 10 match-up against the New York Jets.
S Jeron Johnson was also limited in practice Friday with a hamstring strain and Carroll said he looks to be good to go. CB Byron Maxwell did not practice and is listed as doubtful with a hamstring strain.
Carroll said that newly signed DE Patrick Chukwurah will be active for Sunday's game. Chukwurah was signed Tuesday following DE Chris Clemons being placed on injured reserve.
"He's in a backup role for us but he showed enough that he's going to be dressed for the game and we'll see how he does," Carroll said.
WR Sidney Rice did not practice Friday with what was listed as a knee injury, but he's listed as probable to play as well.
One other side note, a league spokesman confirmed Redskins T Trent Williams was fined $7,875 for his postgame punch of CB Richard Sherman last week.
