RENTON - Not being able to play during the final month of the regular season could have been an incredibly difficult thing for CB Brandon Browner to handle.

Except for one thing, the Seattle Seahawks didn't lose.

Seattle finished the season with five straight victories to finish the season 11-5 and miss the NFC West title by a half game to the San Francisco 49ers. The team's success in his absence made the time on the sidelines palatable.

"It was fun because we was kicking everybody's butt. ...It was awesome to watch," Browner said.

Browner was suspended for the final four games of the season for a violation of the league's performance-enhancing drug policy. Browner, along with CB Richard Sherman, initially appealed their suspensions. Sherman followed through on his appeal and won to keep him eligible for the postseason. Browner chose to drop his appeal following the Seahawks overtime win in Chicago and began serving his suspension.

"It was about that time," Browner said as to why he decided to drop his appeal. "Sometimes you make mistakes. I was fortunate enough the guys continued to win."

The Seahawks may need the added depth provided by Browner's return as well. With CB Walter Thurmond already landing on injured reserve due to a hamsring strain, Seattle could be missing another defensive back Sunday.

CB Jeremy Lane appeared on the injury report with a knee injury. Lane did not practice on Thursday. It was an unexpected addition for a player that has not appeared on the injury report all season. Being forced to miss practice could signal his availability is in doubt for Sunday's game.
