RENTON - G James Carpenter may miss time for the Seattle Seahawks after leaving Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears with a knee injury.
Carpenter left the game following the first possession and was replaced by G John Moffitt. Carpenter has been dealing with soreness in his knee recently and Carroll said he felt something happen in the knee during the game.
It's Carpenter's left knee, the same knee he injured last year forcing him to miss the entire offseason and start of the regular season.
Carroll said Carpenter has had X-rays and underwent an MRI to determine what is wrong with his knee.
"The early indications, there's nothing major wrong," Carroll said. "It's just it's still uncomfortable for him."
CB Marcus Trufant suffered a pretty serious hamstring strain at the end of practice last Thursday. Trufant did not play and it seems unlikely he'll be able to make it back this week.
"He had a pretty legit hamstring pull," Carroll said. "...It's going to be a challenge to get him back for the game. We'll see what happens."
WR Sidney Rice will be put through the concussion protocol just to make sure everything is OK. Rice tweeted after the game that the doctors cleared him and Carroll said then he though he would be all right, but they are being cautious nevertheless.
"He feels good. He's not in bad shape at this point so we think he has a chance," Carroll said.
LB Leroy Hill would not have been able to play yesterday after his workout before the game. Carroll said he thought Hill would have been able to play given a few more days, which would seem to bode well for his availability this week.
ESPN.com's Adam Schefter reported Monday that CB Richard Sherman has set an appeal date of Dec. 14 for his positive test for performance-enhancing drugs. That appeal date would make Sherman eligible to play this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals. However, if the suspension is upheld, Sherman will likely miss the first of any playoff games Seattle plays.
Also per Schefter, an appeal date has still not been set for CB Brandon Browner.
