RENTON - Seattle Seahawks S Winston Guy has been suspended four games without pay for a violation of the league's peformance-enhancing drug policy.
According to Guy's agent, Greg Lamont Linton, he took an over-the-counter susbtance that contained an ingredient on the banned substances list. Linton said Guy would not appeal the suspension and begin serving it immediately.
"It is what it is. He is responsible for what he put in his body," Linton said.
Guy is eligible to return following the Seahawks game in Toronto against the Buffalo Bills on Dec. 16.
This appears to be an innocent mistake from Guy for taking a workout supplement that contained a banned item. Guy is owning up to the mistake and serving the suspension right away. Guy has been active for just two games this season for the Seahawks.
