RENTON - The Seahawks announced they have agreed to terms with former St. Louis Rams first-round pick T Alex Barron after a tryout during rookie mini-camp last weekend.
Barron is a seven-year NFL veteran that played his first five years in St. Louis before stops in Dallas and New Orleans the last two seasons. Barron did not play in 2011 as a knee injury landed him on injured reserve.
Barron matched up against first-round pick DE Bruce Irvin through much of the weekend's mini-camp.
In addition to Barron, the team also announced the signings of two rookie undrafted free agents in Montana CB Donny Lisowski and Duke TE Cooper Helfet as well as former Oklahoma State T Andrew Mitchell.
Lisowski was singled out by head coach Pete Carroll on Sunday as being able to standout among players in camp for tryouts. He made two interceptions on the weekend as well as a few pass deflections as well.
Helfet also managed to make several nice catches across the middle of the field.
To make room on the roster, the team released CB London Durham, T Jon Opperud, LB Adrian Moten and G/C Brent Osborne.
