Seattle - With their pitching struggling of late, especially Blake Beavan and rookie Brandon Mauer, the Mariners have diecided to add some veternan help with their rotation.
Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com reports that the Mariners are close to acquiring right hand pitcher Aaron Harang from the Colorado Rockies.
Rosenthal reports that as part of the deal involves a cash exchange of more than a $1 million dollars. At this time, all we know is that the Rockies are getting a minor league pitcher from the Mariners, but we don't know who that is.
Harang was just traded to the Rockies from the Dodgers, but Colorado immediately designated him for assignment with the hope of trading him.
The 35 year old was 10-10 last year with a 3.61 ERA with the Dodgers.
