Peoria - Day one is in the books from spring training and Softy and Puckett caught up with several members of the team on Wednesday. 

Softy was able to chat with Mariners pitching coach Carl Willis and Rick Rizz and Aaron Goldsmth of the broadcast team. 

Puckett talked to shortstop Brendan Ryan and new starting pitcher Joe Saunders.  Both talked about veteran leadership and Ryan noted that once Ichiro was traded last season the team developed better chemistry.
