The Seattle Mariners traded for a face from the past on Wednesday by acquiring Mike Morse from the Washington Nationals as part of a three-team deal.

Seattle sent backup catcher John Jaso to Oakland and the A's sent pitchers A.J. Cole, Blake Treinen and a player to be named last to the Nationals.

Morse hit .291 with 17 doubles, 18 home runs and 62 RBI in 102 games with the Nationals last season. Morse began his career in Seattle before being traded to the Nationals in exchange for Ryan Langerhans in 2009.

Jaso appeared in 108 games for Seattle last season as a catcher, designated hitter and pinch-hitter. Jaso hit .276 with 19 doubles, 10 home runs and 50 RBI.
