The following may not be roster moves that fire up the jersey presses in San Francisco and Seattle, but, if nothing else they provide a good storyline between Pete Carroll and Jim Harbaugh.
Yesterday the Seattle Seahawks claimed Kyle Nelson (LS) off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers and waived Charly Martin (WR).
Today, the San Francisco 49ers claimed Charly Martin (WR) off waivers from Seattle.
It looks like Carroll and Harbaugh have engaged in a game of, “Anything you can do, I can do better!”
Apparently, Pete likes the competition a long snapper from The Golden State can bring to his preseason camp… And… Harbaugh likes what he sees out of a former Seahawks wide receiver and thinks he could become a piece of the 49ers championship puzzle?
Hm. Maybe not.
Call me crazy, but it looks like Harbaugh and Carroll might be trying to get in each other’s heads. I guess only time will tell. If the Seahawks walk away with a Hall of Fame long snapper, Harbaugh better hope he just picked up one heck of a wide receiver.
Thoughts on why the hawks didn’t trade? Maybe the deal would’ve required Harbaugh and Carroll to shake hands… After all, we all know what happens when Jim Harbaugh has to shake someone’s hand.
Good call Pete.
