AUDIO: Tuel interview w/ Furness, Puckett and Jed Collins
As the college football season gets closer, we checked in with Washington State quarterback Jeff Tuel on Tuesday's show. Tuel talks about the one game that continues to motivate him and whether or not he will come back for a fifth year of eligibility.
Tuel said that he has sent his paperwork into the NCAA for a medical redshirt and he expects to hear back from them during fall camp. Tuel said he wasn't sure if he would use the medical redshirt if it was awarded to him.
The senior quarterback also talked about the one game that continues to motivate him throughout the offseason. The game took place back in 2010 against the UCLA Bruins. You may remember that the Cougars were tied at 28 and were driving for yet another score to potentially give them the lead in the 4th quarter. Tuel scrambled toward the endzone and dove for the pylon and it was ruled a touchdown. However, after further review it was ruled that his knee was down. The Cougars would eventually go for it on fourth down and not get it. The Bruins turned right around and went 99 yards and went up by seven and eventually won 42-28.
Tuel told us that he has a picture of his knee being down just shy of the goal line. He said he uses that picture everyday to remind and motivate him during the offseason.
