MONTLAKE - Head coach Steve Sarkisian said that due to lack of numbers on the offensive line with injuries they will be unable to split into two full teams for the spring game on Saturday. They will have to play offense vs. defense and they have a scoring system they'll use.
The defense gets three points for a stop, five points for a turnover and seven points for a touchdown. The offense will have standard scoring with field goals worth three points, touchdowns worth six points and PATs or 2-point conversions.
C Drew Schaefer was back to full participation in practice after missing the last several practices with a knee injury.
DE Talia Crichton left practice midway through as he's battling sickness.
OL Siosifa Tufunga broke his hand during the team's scrimmage at Memorial Stadium Saturday. He will surgery Thursday and will take a month to heal. The injury will not affect availability for the fall.
S James Sample, S Travis Feeney, and FB/LB Cooper Pelluer remain in red non-contact jerseys with shoulder injuries. WR James Johnson was also in a no-contact jersey.
WR Kevin Smith (knee), RB/LB Ryan McDaniel (knee), RB Deontae Cooper (knee), DE Hau'oli Jamora (knee), OL Colin Tanigawa (knee) and DT Semisi Tokolahi (foot) remain unable to practice and likely won't during the duration of spring practice.
