He had been through hell for the past week, and really, the past year.  He nearly cried on the bench because of his lack of playing time and impact.  He went scoreless in just 8 minutes in Game 2.

But despite every reason to hang his head, and mope, Brandon Roy exploded in Game 4, to play better than he ever has in his life.

He looked better than he ever did BEFORE he had double knee surgery.

Brandon Roy sliced up the Mavericks defense, scoring 18 in the fourth and 24 for the game.   He was unstoppable.  And now the Blazers are back in a series where they were nearly buried.

Tied at 2 games each, the Blazer have all the momentum in the world, and as Wesley Matthews said after their last win, "We have our All-Star back!"

What a joy it was to watch Brandon's perserverence.  He was getting booed and ripped on by his own fans because he was injured.  His injuries are unfair. He wants so badly to perform, and he would do anything to get back to being All-Star that he once was, but his body won't allow him to do it.  That is, until game 4.

He will continue to play inconsistently, because he has no cartiledge left in his knee.  But occasionally, we will be treated to wonderful performances like the one we saw over the weekend.

His ability to perform on the NBA's biggest stage after being so down was a wonderful thing to watch.  I hope his knees allow him to bust out a few more epic performances, because the look of joy and pride on his face when he was mobbed by his teammates after the win was priceless.
