TASTE at SAM to Hold Benefit Dinner and Auction for Family of Former UW Fullback
Proceeds to Benefit the Children of Former Husky Richard Lee Thomas III
SEATTLE, Wash. – April 8, 2013 – Richard and Christie Thomas have spent more than half of their lives in love. He was the star UW football player. She was the cheerleader on the sidelines. Now, 27 years after first meeting, the married parents of three face the toughest battle of their lives.
In July 2012, 39 year-old Christie suffered a brain aneurysm and underwent a major surgery. After showing signs of recovery, she agonized through a second brain hemorrhage which led to emergency surgery.
As Christie lies in a long-term care facility still unable to communicate verbally, TASTE at SAM announced today it will hold a benefit dinner and silent auction to raise funds to help the Thomas family in its time of need. The event is scheduled for Sunday, April 21 at 6:30 p.m. Former UW All-American and NFL tight end Ernie Conwell is scheduled to MC the event. Tickets are $75 per person.
