Every weekday at 5:30am, we'll start your "Sports Day"
I love the energy at Hawks camp this year. While it is always upbeat in any "Camp Carroll" this year there is a sense of mid-season form that didn't exist in the past years due to all of the uncertainty at key positions. Russell Wilson runs the offense like a 10 year vet and while he still makes mistakes occasionally you always feel that he is under control. On the defensive side, Richard Sherman keeps everyone loose by dancing to the music blaring over the loudspeaker between plays and then during plays locks up every receiver that ever comes into his area.
Some of the big moments from today included a "Beast Mode" burst up the middle for big yards when his offense was backed up on their own 1 that got cheers from the crowd gathered. Wilson hit on a couple big pass plays as well finding Sean McGrath after buying tons of time in the pocket and then hitting Jermaine Kearse on a beautiful bomb after Kearse had beaten Walter Thurmond (Husky beating a Duck, I like that).
Other big plays included Will Blackmon making a nice pick of a bad ball by Brady Quinn along the sidelines and taking it to the house for a score and Jon Ryan getting to test his arm with a TD pass to McGrath off a fake FG.
Injuries are still a story as the number of guys not practicing elevated to 19 as Luke Willson was in a red jersey after getting hit by Winston Guy at practice yesterday.
Tomorrow the team will play a simulated game in the early afternoon which should be fun!
