POPULAR SEATTLE SPORTS RADIO SHOW SEIZES TV AIRWAVES MAY 7th ON COMCAST SPORTSNET
Regional Sports Leader Unveils Addition of 950 KJR Radio Show Dave “Softy” Mahler
Every Weekday 10am-1pm
Comcast SportsNet Northwest again reinforces its leadership as the Northwest’s home for local sports by announcing a partnership with Seattle Sports Radio 950 KJR, featuring the show “Dave “Softy” Mahler.” “Softy,” which is the nickname of outspoken and gregarious host, Dave Mahler, is set to launch on Thursday, May 7th and will air live weekdays on Comcast SportsNet from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
From obsessed listener to lowly intern, Softy worked to elevate himself to mid-day show host for the last 10 years, all the while keeping his trademark figure. Although always looking for a chance to talk Huskies, he maintains his passion for all Seattle sports teams. High energy, high volume, and undoubtedly high blood pressure, Softy brings it all on a daily basis and is the ultimate access for the Seattle sports fan. Born and raised in Seattle, Softy has been with Sports Radio 950 KJR for 15 years.
Softy commented, “This is a very exciting step for me and the radio show. To get to hear the show is one thing, but for viewers to now get a peek as to what happens in the studio during the show is unprecedented. With Comcast SportsNet, we will be able to take the show to a much bigger audience, giving sports fans outside of Seattle a chance to be a part of the Softy family! With a heavy focus on Northwest sports and a passion for the teams we cover, this is a win-win for both myself and the Northwest sports junkie!!”
Rich Moore, Program Director Sports Radio 950 KJR, said, “We are very excited to partner up with Comcast SportsNet. We see this as an opportunity to grow our brand in the region, while being associated with a great brand in Comcast. We are looking forward to sharing “Softy” who will show his extreme passion for local sports as a true fan who got a radio show.”
Comcast SportsNet General Manager David Manougian said, “We are ecstatic to work with KJR to launch “Softy” on Comcast SportsNet. “Softy” will be a great addition to the team and give our Seattle viewers the opportunity to enjoy him on a daily basis. The show really helps to round out our network as a true Northwest network.”
