November 5th - POOCH OF THE DAY ...Agent Smith is a shelter dog. Originally dubbed "Sir Licksalot" for reasons that can probably be surmised, we switched to have him fit our overall Matrix-based pet them. We already had cats named Neo, Trinity and Morpheus. And since a dog is their natural enemy. And the dog is black with a white shirt (chest), Agent Smith was the only possibly name for him.

Unfortunately, despite the reputation the name might give him, Agent Smith is, in fact, a nervous, easily intimidated dog that is regularly hectored and bossed around by the cats. A sad, but very funny state of affairs.

He is also the most loving, deeply devoted dog any of us have ever had (and we've had a lot of great dogs).

Finally, addressing the elephant in the room (or on his head) - the ears. These are fully articulated radar dishes that go up, down, back and sideways and act as emotional semaphores. You always know how Agent Smith is feeling based on his ears. Up is good.

After last week's UW-Arizona game, his ears were down and back for two straight days.

Does your dog have what it takes to be the "Gasman's Sports Pooch of the Day?"

Send us a photo of your dog (preferably a photo of your dog enjoying the Gasman in the Afternoon show on KJR) and we'll post it on our exclusive "Pooch Page".

Each day, we'll feature ONE good dog who enjoys listening to the show as our Sports Pooch of the Day.
