Puck - There are reports this morning from our guy, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network that Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin is very close to a new multi-year deal with the Seahawks.
This would obviously be tremendous news for Baldwin and the Seahawks because Doug has been such an instrumental piece to the Seahawks for the past three seasons. After having a subpar sophomore season, Baldwin bounced back in a big way in the Super Bowl run, catching 50 passes for 778 yards and 5 TD's. For me there are three plays that stand out the most from Baldwin this past season. The catch against the Saints down the sideline in the divisional round. The catch, behind the defense in the NFC Championship game against the 49ers and the kickoff return in the same game. Baldwin no doubt showed his value to this team in the postseason, stepping up at exactly the right time.
The deal between #Seahawks and Doug Baldwin is “very close” to being done, I’m told. Could be today. Expect a shorter deal, maybe 3 years.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) May 29, 2014
