RENTON - The Seattle Seahawks are adding a new player to the roster following the conclusion of the third day of training camp.

According to his agent, Blake Baratz, the Seahawks have claimed LB O'Brien Schofield off waivers from the Arizona Cardinals.

Schofield has appeared in 35 games in three seasons with the Cardinals before being relased by Arizona to make room for the signing of DE John Abraham.

Schofield has recorded 10.5 sacks and 83 tackles in three years for Arizona. He started all nine games he appeared in last season while recording four sacks.

The Seahawks announced the release of T Jake Bscherer in order to clear a space on the roster for Schofield. Seattle inherits Schofield's $1.323 million contract for this season.
